Another innovation,and addition to ripe

banana recipes.

This recipe is too awesome in taste,and I would

say this tops the list to recipes with bananas .

The blend of almonds,chocolate and banana,

no doubt gives out an amazing taste.

Making tartlets is too easy for me . How ? I use

the chappathi press and press out within

seconds using oil paper or oil packet covers ( I

store in the fridge) . So this is my tip for quick


Moving to the recipe now

For the tart pastry


1 cup flour

2 tbsp butter

3-4 tbsp sugar

A pinch of salt

Milk to bind


•Bind all the ingredients together to make a

firm dough,and set in the fridge till you make

the filling .

•Divide into portions (makes 11-12),and line in

greased tart tins.Pour filling and bake .

For the filling


2-3 medium sized bananas

2 eggs

3/4 cup brown sugar

Half cup almonds powdered

100 gm cream cheese ( crumbled)

1/4 cup fresh cream

1/4 tsp cinnamon powder

1/4 tsp nutmeg powder

2 tbsp chocolate chips

A pinch of salt


•Mix the ingredients in a food processor or

pulse in a mixer.( except chocolate chips)

•Mix in the chocolate chips.

•Pour mixture,into prepared pastry shells (not

full to the brim)

•Bake in a moderate oven for ( 180C)for 35-40




Chocolate and banana is one good combination commonly loved my many.Banana is one

particular fruit which any household will have daily.At times ,when they tend to get overripe

you can use them in recipes like this .Brownie is one good dessert which can be served at any

meal with combinations of cream,ice-cream,melted chocolate,custard ….and also an easy

dessert to make.

Now ..for the recipe


3/4 flour*

1/4 cup almond flour*

100gm butter

2 heaped tblsp.cocoa powder

1/4 cup chocolate chips (dark will be fine)

2 eggs

100gm sugar

2 medium sized bananas

1/2 tsp vanilla essence/ rum or any liquor (liquor is optional)

A pinch of salt

Few walnuts or any nuts of your choice.


Melt the butter and cocoa together in a bain-marie,(double boiler).Once It is melted,remove

from heat and set aside.Beat the eggs with a pinch of salt,and sugar.Mash the bananas

and add to the egg mixture.Add gradually to the chocolate mixture and blend well.Add

essence/liquor.Finally fold in the flour and mix well.Pour into a greased baking tray,sprinkle

nuts on top and bake in a moderate oven for 30-35 minutes (180 degrees).Can be topped with

Ganache or any chocolate sauce.

Note-*If you are not using almond flour,you can use 1 cup flour


This banana halwa is a signature dish in Tuticorin South India.As banana halwa is one of

my  top favourites,and the ripe bananas dominating the fruit basket,triggered me to make

this banana delight.

I have used brown sugar and a little jaggery,avoiding the use of white sugar,and it turned

out to be awesome.Thought to share with you all.!


4 ripe big bananas (not overipe and brown) mashed.(cavendish bananas)

125 gms brown sugar

1/4 cup jaggery

1 tsp.cardamon powder

1.5 tblsp cornflour mixed in  a little milk

few cashewnuts chopped

1/2 cup ghee +2 tblsp olive oil.

pinch of salt.


Use a thick bottomed pan and heat half the ghee.Add the mashed bananas and keep

cooking till it changes color.Add the sugar ,then the jaggery,salt and keep mixing.

Once the sugar has dissolved add the cornflour ,cardamon powder, and mix well.

Once you see the mixture leaving the sides of the pan and thick,add the rest of the ghee


Add cashewnuts and keep mixing till you get a thick and nice brown color.

Transfer to a greased plate . Glaze the top with half tsp.ghee.Allow to cool and cut into






Banana bread

Bananas cannot be eaten when it’s overripe,but when used to make bread,muffins,cakes pancakes or fritters it turns out really good.
Today I bring you a recipe for banana bread.Easy and tasty
4-5 ripe bananas mashed
3 eggs
200 gm flour
75 gm butter
2 tblsp.yoghurt
1 tsp.baking powder
1 tsp.baking soda
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 tsp.cinammon powder
1/4 cup walnuts or pecans

Beat butter and sugar till well corporated. Add eggs one at a time and beat. Next add the bananas and the rest of the ingredients except the flour and beat till well blended.Fold in the flour. pour into greased loaf tin and bake in a moderate oven for 30-40 mins (175-180 Degrees Celsius.) Slice and serve plain with cream,melted chocolate,  ice-cream or custard.
